I have a hard time focusing and am pretty disorganized.
When I come home from school, I know that I have a lot of homework to finish, but tend to procrastinate. A simple assignment will sometimes take me hours to finish. Although I like school and understand the concepts really well, I feel that I can apply a better effort on my assignments and can score higher on my tests if I spent more time studying. When I sit down at the dinner table, I know that my parents are going to ask me if I finished my homework or about a missing assignment. It usually leads to an unpleasant argument.
I am an Alpha Scholar.
I discovered that my ADHD is not my disability, it's my advantage. I learned how to harness and apply my strengths by using unique time management, organization, and application strategies that compliment my lifestyle and learning style. I have found ways to use technology as a tool to help me manage my time and tasks more efficiently. I now complete my homework in half time time than before. I have more time to spend with friends and to pick up new hobbies; I even joined a new club at school. Most importantly, my parents and I don't argue over missing assignments, bad grades, or academic obligations anymore.
