I am creative. I want to do something with my ideas, and I discovered that programming is one way to express them by building cool apps. I started taking classes, but I struggled learning computer programming. After taking the Alpha Scholar's Computer Science Ladder Classes, I began to realize that I wasn't the problem, but how I was learning programming was.
Through my Academic Prescription, I discovered that I am an literal thinker and had not fully developed fundamental skills and concepts that I need to be successful in my current computer science classes. I also learned that the common programming curriculum that I had been exposed to in classes was not right for me and my learning style.
In my Computer Science class, I learned to build apps quickly and with more confidence. I my teacher taught me strategies how to think about computer science problems. In no time, I build the apps I wanted. Plus, I am well prepared for my Computer Science AP test!
